The LT Classic lives up to its name, incorporating all of the design elements of a "classic" Windows 95/98 keyboard. The LT Classic includes two sets of Ctrl and Alt keys, one set of which is placed on each side of the spacebar. If you rely on the menu shortcuts available in most Windows applications, you'll appreciate having these invaluable keys available to either hand as you type. Nestled between the Ctrl and Alt keys on both sides of the keyboard is a Windows-specific menu key, which literally places the often-used Windows Start Menu at your fingertips. A second menu key to the right of the spacebar simulates a right-button click of your mouse, which calls up a context-sensitive operations menu when one is available within Windows or a Windows application.
A good keyboard should "feel" right. In other words, the keys should be slightly contoured and provide enough tactile feedback that they don't feel "mushy" as if you are pressing on a marshmallow. The LT Classic delivers the feel you want in a good keyboard. The tops of its keys are molded to a curve into which your fingertips fit comfortably, and each key provides enough resistance to make typing comfortable. Touch typists will appreciate the LT Classic's raised line for easy identification of the "F" and "J" home keys. The LT Classic ships with a PS/2 plug, but Key Tronic includes a PS/2-to-AT style converter so you can use the Classic with older systems.
Like all of KeyTronic's Lifetime products, the LT Classic keyboard is warranted for life. Under normal usage, if the Lifetime Classic ever fails, the company will repair or replace it for free.
